You choose for a NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKING
When the guest is 100% certain of their travel dates, they can opt for a non-refundable booking with a small discount. However, this rate does not offer booking flexibility and non-refundable reservations can NOT be modified or cancelled. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
You choose for a STANDARD FLEXIBLE BOOKING
With a flexible booking, the guest has the possibility to cancel their reservation free of charge up to 72 hours prior to their arrival date.
Flexible rates include a deposit, which will be the cost of the first night of the booking. The deposit amount will be charged immediately to the guest's credit card, the remaining balance will be due upon check-in. Reservations made on this website can be canceled or modified by contacting the hostel directly, up to 72 hours before the arrival date.
If the guest does not provide sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive at the hostel on their arrival day, then the entire reservation will be considered cancelled, and the guest will be required to pay the hostel the amount equivalent to the first night's stay. The hostel reserves the right to charge this amount to the credit or debit card used by the guest to make the reservation, without prior notice.
Early check-out
The guest pays for the entire stay during the check-in process. If the guest decides to leave the hostel before the dates indicated in the booking confirmation, the cancellation policy corresponding to the type of booking chosen by the guest will apply.
In case of extenuating circumstances, the Hostel’s management retains the right to decide whether or not to forego the cancellation policy as a gesture of goodwill.
Whale Tales Hostel may at any time cancel the booking if:
- The payment information provided by the guest is invalid and the guest has not provided any valid alternative information.
- The information provided by the guest in connection with the reservation is misleading or false (for example, in relation to the identity of any guest or the purpose of the stay).
- The Hostel reasonably believes that fulfilling the Booking might negatively affect the reputation or operation of the Hostel.
- Furthermore, Whale Tales Hostel may cancel the booking at any time if the Hostel or the booked room(s)/bed(s) are unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Hostel's control (including, without limitation: extremely adverse weather conditions, strikes, epidemics or pandemics, any law or measure adopted by a government or public authority, natural disasters), in which case the Hostel (at its option) will offer the guest a refund or the option to rebook for another date (subject to availability) at no additional charge.
You made your booking through an external website or an online travel agency:
If you choose not to book directly with us, but instead to reserve your stay via a third party website or online travel agency, we recommend you to check the cancellation policy on their website or on your booking confirmation. If you wish to cancel or modify your stay, please contact the third-party website that manages your reservation directly for assistance. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to cancel or modify any bookings that haven’t been made via Whale Tales Hostel's own official channels.
For a direct and personal service, we recommend you to book via our own channels directly instead of opting for an online travel agency.
